John 14:1-6

“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.” Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. (John 14:1-6 NKJV)

The Importance of basing our walks through this life focusing upon the right things is becoming more and more a subject of critical thinking. If we are launched upon a warped trail of inaccuracies and opinionated teachings rather than the soundness of Scripture, we run the risk of gravitating to modalities of practicing our faith that enter into error.

Regardless of what you have heard from the armchair gods, The One True God says his word is flawless and His way is sure and true. Anything else is a departure from the God of the ages and is little more than insipid, sophomoric speculations. The entirety of God’s word can be summed up from the Torah, the poetics and the prophetic and the New Covenant writings as no other descriptive than “Only Jesus”.

Jesus is the promise,

Isaiah 7:10-14

Moreover the LORD spoke again to Ahaz, saying, “Ask a sign for yourself from the LORD your God; ask it either in the depth or in the height above.” But Ahaz said, “I will not ask, nor will I test the LORD!” Then he said, “Hear now, O house of David! Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will you weary my God also? Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel. (Isaiah 7:10-14 NKJV)

From ancient times, our need for a savior was evident. The promises of God resounded over and over in the Old Testament as man awaited a remedy for blood sacrifices and a heaven sent restoration of the relationship with Jehovah God. Man’s promises fall short. His word is only as good as his flesh. In order for us to see something that withstands our own flaw, it must be from heaven.

Here in Isaiah, we see Ahaz receiving this word from the Prophet...It is directed toward the house of David. This is a promise that emerged out of the seed of two barren people that were miraculously touched by God to begin the lineage of David that would bring forth a savior. So here we are hundreds of years before Jesus birth hearing the voice of God saying that this Son of promise will be brought forth from the House of David and His name would be called “Emmanuel”...specifically translated...God with us. God’s promise is a sure word. And the promise of God was Only Jesus!

the Watermark,

John 1:14-18

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me.’ ” And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him. (John 1:14-18 NKJV)

Fine papers...papers that presidents and kings use are made with a watermark. Precious documents that are used to seal important contracts and agreements are printed upon papers that bear an ingrained seal in the fiber of the paper that says it is genuine. Likewise, Jesus enters into our lives and he does not simply exist somewhere on our person like a medal or a badge. He is not a uniform we put on. He is not even a smile or the ability to have a nice Jesus face to put on for Church. No, as a believer, a Christian, your life is not simply a bumper sticker or the quality of leather on your bible. You’re identification is a watermark ingrained into your life that no matter what else is printed upon it...that watermark that shows you belong to God shows through...It is not a showing of how well you can wear your is a watermark of your life in Christ....and it is Only Jesus!

and the Price

Ephesians 5:1-2

Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma. (Ephesians 5:1-2 NKJV)

Nothing that is cheap is ever highly desired or treasured. Likewise, nothing that you do not understand the value of is taken seriously. If you cannot relate that the very Son of God was made manifest as a human on this earth...raised up among us...lived, ate, slept, worked, and functioned among us until he was handed over to man to pay the ultimate price to regain our place in God’s kingdom, you probably do not fully grasp the greatness of the price that was paid for your ransom.

Right after 911, our then president George W. Bush came on national and international television and made a bold proclamation on behalf of the people of the United States. He told the world that the U.S. would not make deals with terrorists. Now the United States is a place that understands the meaning of the ultimate sacrifice. We are free because men and women went to their deaths to keep us that way.

Under original sin, Satan held the people of this life hostage. He held them captive to his bondage and torture...and our God also does not make deals with Terrorists. He did not make a deal with the Enemy. He sent the ultimate weapon to end the deal forever. He sent His only son, that through Him, we defeat hell and the grave once and for all.

That price was not paid by any man, no matter how sainted his life may have been. That price cannot be earned by any acts of human kindness or benevolence. It was a was paid once...for all...It was paid by the Son of was Only Jesus.

Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time, for which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle—I am speaking the truth in Christ and not lying— a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth. (I Timothy 2:1-7 NKJV)
