Welcome to Joy Fellowship Church

Then he said to them, "Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the LORD is your strength." Nehemiah 8:10 (NKJV) .

Pastor's Corner

Springtime Greetings!

I really do need to write more often, but Leslie and I have really been on the move these past few months. Many exciting things are happening here at Joy Fellowship Church!
The remodeling and look of our building continues to change, but the greater changes are happening within the hearts and spirits of our congregation and leadership. There is an almost unanimous feeling that God is about to move in an awesome way. As we strategize and plan ways to reach the lost both here and abroad for Jesus, we also know that the Holy Spirit is quickening the hearts and lives of those we encounter to want to know and be in the presence of the Lord. It is evident in our services and it is confirmed everywhere we go. We recently returned from a conference in Montana where some two hundred pastors were in attendance. Leslie and I were asked to speak smack dab between two awesome men of God and we totally felt unworthy to be there. On our left was Pastor Bill Wilson of Metro Ministries in New York City, who ministers to multiple thousands of the poor and homeless in the Big Apple at his church and abroad. On our right is Bishop Ernest Komanapalli. The only way I can describe this man is, think the Billy Graham of India. He has over 1200 churches under his watch as well as nearly twenty schools and colleges, a hospital and a broadcast/media center and several thousand in his own home church to boot. So again I will reiterate; we felt unworthy. Yet Pastor Don Burleson of the Montana Shepherd’s Conference and his own New Covenant Fellowship in Kalispell, Montana asked Pastor Leslie and I to speak on little churches doing big things.
You know what? Let me encourage you today. Do not be intimidated by something that looks big. When David faced Goliath, he saw a giant…a giant that was about to fall. David’s faith level was all that counted. When he sized up his adversary, he went to the brook and pulled five smooth stones from it and used only one to drop the big lug. What were the other four stones for? Any other giants who got the bright idea to come against the anointed of God.  David was the runt of the litter, he was teased and taunted by his brothers, called upon last, given the “doo-doo list” jobs, and yet God chose him to set the standard and eventually lead Israel. Never underestimate the power of one and the importance of integrity.
Bill Wilson told me a joke while we were there. He said, a guy walked in to the bureau of vital statistics and told the records officer he wanted to change his name. The lady asked him, what is your name now? He answered, Joe Stinks. JOE STINKS, the lady snapped, I think I’d change my name too! What do you want to change your name to, she inquired? The man answered…Fred.  The point is, you can call something by a different name, but if it lacks integrity, it’s just a front; it still stinks.  David saw through the “big” and addressed the true issue of “real”. When it came down to it, the giant was not what it appeared to be. Don’t let your physical size dictate what the power of God can do through you. After all if you trust Jesus, you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.
What can He do through you?
Take Care till next time…luvya!

In His Wonderful Service,
